Boston Magazine's
Best of Boston, 2005
Best Furniture, Contemporary
Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
Contemporary doesn't have to mean mod. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
gets this, and sells a mix of retro furnishings alongside pieces
with cleaner, more classic lines. There are sophisticated neutrals
and playful colors, accent pillows and striking lamps, even stylish
"seating" for your pet. Best of all, many of the items we like
most are affordable.

Improper Bostonian Boston's
Best 2006
Furniture Moderately Priced
Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams
It's not hard to stop and dream about what that plush, amazing chair or those
dark and lean end tables could do for your living room when you pass by Mitchell
Gold's windows in the Back Bay. The company's philosophy is "Relaxed Design,"
and it offers a no-pressure, less-intimidating shopping experience with its
well-edited selection of stylish, but not cheap or trendy, furniture. The
new Dr. Pitt collection, for example, consists of seven pieces of slip-covered
furniture that can be pushed together or placed separately, adapting to different
purpoes in different spaces. Typical of the store's style, the lines are
clean, and everything's comfortable and available in a variety of fabrics,
colors and patterns. With an emphasis on customer care (for example, it recently
introduced an in-home design service), Mitchell Gold is the place for reasonably
priced furniture that'll add oomph to your living space. |
